It turns out the audio from this TikTok trend is NOT from Dr. Phil—it’s from the Steve Wilkos Show, but we already made the graphic so it’s staying.
The clip was uploaded to the official @stevewilkosshow TikTok in January. Since then over 5,000 users have made their own videos using this audio. The original clip was taken from this segment of The Steve Wilkos Show:
It was a great call by The Steve Wilkos social media team to edit the clip to add the “This is your man?” to the beginning—this likely would not have become a trend on TikTok without that question.
They also helped the video go viral by opting to keep the clip short, rather than using the full minute that TikTok allows. Shorter videos are much easier to get on the FYP. *Note: videos shorter than 5 seconds will not reach the FYP!
Here’s a few examples how TikTok users are using this sound:

Most people are using the sound to talk about literal men, like this example from TikTok user @0yiza

But you can use this trend to talk about anything, like those crusty white dogs everyone has (example from @dharding5_)

Or the difficulties engineers face when dealing with architects (example from TikTok user @Herbbroooks)

This trend has even made its way to Christian TikTok (Jesustok?). We saw a few of these examples where it’s a POV from satan and Jesus and “your man” is the TikTok user posting the video. This example is from TikTok user @joechristianguy
(This is both our least and most favorite use of this audio)
